What is SERAPIAS?<\/strong><\/p>

SERAPIAS is a remarkable genus of orchids that thrives even in the driest habitats across the Mediterranean region, making the most of its resources with incredible efficiency. It lives in close, harmonious cooperation with several species of fungi \u2013 a true symbiosis built on balance and mutual benefit. Its scientific name comes from the deity Serapis, a god whose cult merged elements of ancient Egyptian and Greek religions, bringing together two peoples and their worldviews.<\/p>

The name of our tours and our guiding philosophy are no coincidence. Just as the Serapias orchid flourishes through cooperation, our team of naturalists works together in a spirit of shared passion and mutual respect. Each of us is committed to understanding and protecting the natural world, and we aim to bring people closer to it \u2013 whether they are experienced travellers, nature lovers, or complete beginners.<\/p>

Our tours are led by a professional biologist, and we keep our groups small so that every participant can enjoy a friendly, relaxed, and truly exclusive atmosphere. The roots of our work run deep \u2013 from a childhood fascination with wildlife, through decades of field observation and ecological study, to many years of guiding and outdoor education. We see each tour not only as an opportunity to explore beautiful places, but also to share knowledge, inspire curiosity, and encourage a lasting connection with nature<\/p>

Our fascination with the Mediterranean landscapes \u2013 much like the Serapias orchid itself \u2013 has grown over decades. These coastal regions are among our favourite destinations, and Greece, in particular, still holds countless wild, unspoilt corners rich in biodiversity. With our local knowledge and experience, we aim to show visitors a side of Greece far removed from the usual holiday postcard: a land that is colourful and varied, wild and peaceful, floral and lush, monumental and ancient.<\/p>
