Guided private tours in the enchanting Greek habitats

About Our Tours

Our small-group ecotours take place across Northern Greece, offering a journey through an extraordinary range of landscapes – from coastal lagoons at sea level to subalpine meadows nestled at altitudes approaching 2,000 metres. These tours showcase the region’s unparalleled natural heritage, tailored not only for nature enthusiasts but also for professionals and academics in the biological sciences.

In addition to general nature tours, we also offer specialised thematic expeditions focused on specific taxa or habitats, as well as dedicated wildlife photography trips. Whether you are a seasoned field biologist or a curious traveller seeking a deeper, lesser-known facet of Greece – far removed from the familiar summer coastline – we invite you to explore a truly wild and biodiverse region.

Our itineraries lead us into the southernmost stretches of the Rhodope Mountains, through Mediterranean woodlands, and across upland pastures rich in endemic flora. We traverse dramatic river gorges to observe riparian ecosystems and conduct birdwatching excursions across wetlands, lagoons, river deltas and lakes. With us, you may have the chance to track down Europe’s largest wildflower in its natural habitat, encounter the continent’s smallest and blind snake, or explore one of the world's longest navigable river caves. Alternatively, you might choose to spend days searching for native wild orchids across a mosaic of habitats. In spring and winter, with a touch of luck, we may spot bottlenose and common dolphins foraging in the area’s coastal waters. Alongside flocks of pelicans and flamingos, we seek out a diverse array of migratory bird species – some merely passing through, others overwintering in this crucial ecological corridor.

Our walks often take us past thermal springs, waterfalls, mountain streams and crystal-clear springs. As our routes frequently follow in the footsteps of the biblical Apostle Paul, cultural elements may also be included upon request – from the UNESCO-listed ruins of ancient Philippi to atmospheric stone bridges dating back to the Byzantine and Ottoman periods.

Our understanding of Northern Greece’s natural treasures is constantly evolving. While we cannot claim to know every secret of this region’s ecology, our passion for exploring and interpreting its biodiversity is unwavering. Our biologist tour leader’s dedication to this landscape is well-founded – many of the habitats we visit boast biodiversity of outstanding importance, even by European standards.

Join us and experience the joy of daily discovery in the wild heart of Northeastern Greece. If we’ve sparked your interest, browse through our featured species, habitats, and landscapes to help tailor a tour aligned with your personal naturalist interests.
